There are 92 members on the roll, with an average of 60+ each month. Our October meeting was taken by our Minister Rev Ronnie Agnew, then in November we had Hilary Young from Samaritans Purse Christmas Shoe Box Appeal speak about the work of the Group as our hall was being used as a distribution centre. Miss Sandra Smyth from Buckna Congregation came along and sang two beautiful pieces
Our December meeting was a Christmas Celebration when we sang carols and readings, we had Christmas fare of mince pies, Christmas cake and shortbread. Santa paid us a visit and we all got a gift from him.
We had decided to have our Christmas meal in January and with 78 attending we enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal supplied and served by Jane’s Kitchen. It was a beautiful meal and enjoyed by everyone, Mrs Kellie Hanna accompanied by Mrs Edith Reid on the keyboard sang 3 beautiful pieces.
When we meet in February our speaker will be Michael Saunderson from Glenwherry who will demonstrate making butter and will also be singing to us.
At our March meeting we are looking forward to Paula Marshall coming along to talk about healthy eating, which after Christmas and our January dinner we will need to take on board what she is telling us.
In April we are hoping to have Mrs Rea & Lorraine Harper who is telling about Kidney Transplant, Mrs Rea gave one of her kidneys to Lorraine so it will be interesting to hear all about this operation.
The final meeting for the session will be the outing on the 14th May when we are going to TBF Thompson’s in Garvagh for a 2 Course Lunch served at 1.00pm. The bus will leave the church hall at 12.00noon. We are looking forward to having David & Edith Reid joining us that day for some musical items and our usual sing – along.
We have a great committee who work very hard every month setting up the hall, some of them collect members bringing them to the hall and deliver them home again. Our age group range from early 60 – to – 98 years of age and they come from Millbrae Fold, surrounding district and local Churches. We have great fellowship together, singing lovely hymns and God’s word is read.
A big thank-you to all the committee for their commitment each month providing scones, pancakes, biscuits and serving the tea. Also, I want to say thanks to Mrs Ann McCaughey for playing the piano for the singing, and Dorothy Hayes for all her help with the tables and putting the heat on in the hall.
Without this committee I could not manage to run the Tuesday Fellowship each month. This session we have had a lot of new members coming along for the first time and pray that it will continue. Our thanks also to our Minister Rev Ronnie Agnew for showing great interest in our Tuesday Fellowship and for all his help to us, also to Mrs Hazel Reid our Deaconess for her help and support as well.
Our prayer is that God’s Name will be exalted and as they attend each member will find God’s richest blessing.
